How to Install Badaboem Premium WordPress Theme

Welcome to the installation guide of BadaBoem Premium Business Theme. First download a copy of wordpress (latest Version) and install it on your domain of choice, I’m not going to teach you how to install wordpress because there are plenty of guides on the net, just google for it.

1. Preparation

Step 1:

After you’ve purchased BadaBoem, unzip it and open up the BadaBoem/WP folder, you will find your theme in there, now upload the theme folder to wp-content/themes/ with your ftp application of choice.

Login to your wordpress back-end and navigate to Appearance -> Themes and activate the BadaBoem theme, once activated we need to remove the current dummy page, post and comment, remove them and then we will continue importing the posts, pages, comments, categories, and tags from the WordPress export file that was present inside the zip file.

We will do this by going to Tools –> Import and select “Wordpress” ( when this is a fresh wordpress installation then you need to install the WordPress Importer plugin. )

Then on the next window locate your XML file and upload it, now you will be asked to map the authors in this export file to users on the blog. Select your account and select to import images/attachments as well. When all went well you will get a nice confirmation.

Step 2:

Now we need to activate the threaded (nested) comment settings, this setting is disabled by default, so if you want to use the threaded (nested) comments then go to Settings –> Discussion and select “Enable threaded (nested) comment …”

Step 3:

Let’s move on with the Permalink setting, we all want some nice and clean links for our page, category and posts titles. To achieve this just go to Settings –> Permalinks and select “Custom Structure” write /%postname%/ inside the input field, there’s one problem though, some hosts are handling these permalink settings differently, when the normal method does not work try to ad this index.php?/%postname%/ or else contact your host for help on this matter.

Step 4:

To make the homepage show as the demo just go to Settings -> Reading and select Home and Blog as a static page from the Front page displays.

2. Setting up the Menus

BadaBoem uses two types of Custom Menus, a Top Menu and a Footer Menu. To set up both of these menus you go to Appearance -> Menus and select your Menu Locations first.

When you’ve imported the xml file with the dummy content then i don’t need to explain how to select and move the pages  Then select the Footer Menu on your right and ad the pages you want.

The select the Top Menu and add the pages you want, do you want to have them as in the demo then look at the screen.

Okay, now your menu are ready to go, let’s continue with the theme options.

3. Theme Options

General Settings

Click on the BadaBoem settings tab to open up the theme’s option panel. We will start with the first item inside the panel, the General Settings, at this section you can select your theme’s alternative color scheme, enter the url of your logo, ad the content for the front-page tabs, activate or de-activate the login form and ad the google analytics code.

1. Theme Stylesheet – Select your theme’s alternative color scheme.

2. Logo URL – Specify the image address of your logo for the theme.

3. Frontpage tab content ID’s – Enter IDs for pages you want to display in the tabbed area in the footer. Separate them by commas, ex. 5,7,14. First tab is set as widgets and those widgets can be added inside the widget panel, the remaining tabs will be pages. Just exclude the pages from the top menu and ad the id’s of the footer tabs inside this field.

4. Login/Logout form – Check this option if you want a login box on the right from navigation. This will be a logout link if the user is already logged in.

5. Tracking Code – Paste your Google Analytics (or other) tracking code here. This will be added into the footer template of your theme.

Homepage Settings

Next item inside the theme’s option panel will be the Homepage Settings, at this section you’re able to set up the three blocks below the featured slider on the frontpage, this section is build in and fully editable throughout this tab. Most common html tags are allowed.

Below you will find the dummy text in html format which you can use to test it out . Juste paste them inside  the boxes

Social Media Settings

Next item on the list will be the social media settings, the twitter and facebook links at the top of the page.

1. Twitter Username – Enter your Twitter username (without the @ symbol).

2. Facebook Link – Enter your Facebook page link.

Contact information

1. Contact form E-Mail – Enter e-mail address messages from the contact page should be sent to.

2. Contact form subject – Enter subject for the e-mail you get from the contact page.

Footer

1. Copyright info – Enter copyright info or other information to be displayed in the footer (left side).
